Obituary of Rosina (Rose) Gallo

We regret to announce the death of Miss Rosina (Rose) Gallo at the age of 68 on Friday, August 9th 2024.  She was the beloved mother of Jennifer Berendes (Steven) and Ralph Clarke from Hornepayne, her stepdaughters: Kim Smith from Armstrong and Roberta Smith from Thunder Bay.  She also leaves behind her 10 grandchildren: Gabriel, Abigail, Anna, Alex, Logan, Kianna, Nathan, Alissa, Michael and Avery, as well as her siblings: Ida (Gerald) from Hornepayne, Frank (Karen) from Little Current, Yolanda from Barrie, John from Sault Ste. Marie, Pina from Orillia and Joe (Helen) from Barrie, as well as many nieces and nephews, cousins and numerous friends who all loved her dearly.

She was predeceased by her spouse Warren Smith, her father Michele, her mother Maria and her sister Anna.

We remember Rosina as an active lady who loved to bike, Zumba, swimming, blue berry picking, baking and traveling.  She had a very caring, grateful heart and friendly personality.  She adored her grandchildren, and each of them held a very special place in her heart.  She just loved her community and enjoyed taking walks, which gave her the opportunity to meet and socialize with everyone.  When Halloween came, with her energy and spice for life, would just love to dress up and enjoy the holiday.  Rosina will be dearly missed by her family, her friends and all who knew and loved her.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 31st, 2024 at 10 AM at the Holy Name of Jesus Church in Hornepayne.  A celebration of life will follow the funeral on that same day, from 11 AM to 4 PM at the Legion Branch 194 in Hornepayne.

In Rosina’s memory, donations would greatly be appreciated to the Hornepayne Legion Branch 194 in Hornepayne or the Hornepayne Community Hospital.
