Obituary of Neil Neegan

Neil Graham George Neegan

Sunrise June 2nd, 1976 Sunset February 15th, 2024

It is with great sadness that we share the sudden passing of Neil Neegan, on February 15th, 2024 at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre. He had the love of his wife by his side.  Neil was born in Hearst, ON on June 2nd, 1976.  He resided in nearby Constance Lake First Nation for several years until moving to Thunder Bay, ON for professional reasons.

Neil, beloved Husband, Father, Son, Brother, and Uncle will be deeply missed by his loving Wife Petula, his 2 children, whom he loved with all his heart, Abigail and Andrew, Parents Ken and Beulah, Sister Cheryl and her children Grant (Sophia) and Gryphon (Hailey and great niece Amelia), Sister Charlene and her children Ember and Shelby and his brother Wayne (Elisabeth) and their children Maxime, and Jade. He will also be missed by several Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Friends.

Neil will be joining his grandparents, Christina and Dave Neegan, Beatrice and Joseph Neotapin as well as his uncles and aunts.  He will also get to visit his friend Richard who always held a special place in his heart.  Neil had many occupations over his years from the Lumber industry, Power generation, and finally with Water Treatment which led him to Thunder Bay to work for Matawa First Nations Four Rivers. Nothing was more fulfilling to Neil than his time with the Canadian Rangers where he earned the rank of Sargent and made many friends and colleagues.  Neil would spend many weekends in Mattice where he would spend countless times traveling up and down the Missinaibi River to visit his family's trap line fishing, hunting, trapping and being on the land. He had many adventures with his Father, Uncles, Brother and Friends.

Wake service will be held on February 21st 2-4pm for family, 5-7 for public. Funeral

services will be held at 11am on February 22nd. All services will be held at the Anglican Church

in Constance Lake.
